Olympic Hopes regatta in Račice

ohr2016Regatta venue in Račice is proud to host another great international event - Canoe Sprint Olympic Hopes 2017. 797 participants from 33 countries including Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Tunisia, Singapore, Japan or Argentina will fight for medals from Friday to Sunday.

Olympic best are also World Championship best

20170827 03717 racice compressorThere was no Olympic hangover for four Rio gold medallists as they won titles on the final day of the ICF Sprint Canoe World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, on Sunday. Liam Heath, Lisa Carrington, the Hungarian women’s K4 500 and the German men’s K4 crew all won gold in front of a capacity crowd and in perfect paddling conditions.

The first day of finals at World Championships in Račice is over and what a day it was. There was only one downside from my point of view.  That was the short shower during the morning program, but even that was rather refreshing and didn`t thin the crowd.

Meet bronze medalist Josef Dostál since 13:30 in Alpine Pro stand and silver medalist Martin Fuksa in official merchandise shop. Both stands are located in the fan zone behind grandstands.

Paralympic gold medallists show they still know how to win

20170826 02867 racice compressorRio Paralympic gold medallists Jeanette Chippington, Curtis McGrath and Serhii Yemelianov won gold medals on the final day of competition at the 2017 Paracanoe World Championships in Racice. For Great Britain’s Jeanette Chippington it was her 11th world title, and for Australia’s McGrath his sixth.

Germany steal the show

brendel lebikGerman powerhouses Sebastian Brendel and Tom Liebscher have broken the hearts of a capacity Czech crowd by storming to victory in their C1 and K1 1000 finals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Racice on Saturday. In both cases the Germans chased down Czech paddlers who had brought the crowd to their feet. Brendel snatched victory from Martin Fuksa, while Liebscher flew home to tip out Portugal’s Fernando Pimenta and local hope Josef Dostal.

Battle lines are drawn for finals

new zealandNew Zealand and Hungary have drawn first blood in the battle for women’s K4 500 supremacy, qualifying directly for this weekend’s finals at the 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic. In one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the program, New Zealand finished ahead of Germany in their heat, while Hungary proved too strong for France in their race. Paracanoe: Double gold for Great Britain

20170825 01748 racice compressorGreat Britain is celebrating a golden double on day three of the 2017 ICF Paracanoe World Championships, with Paralympic gold medallist Emma Wiggs and teammate Jonathan Young taking the honours at Racice on Friday. The Brits also picked up a silver and a bronze medal in Paracanoe finals, while there was a gold medal for Italian Estaban Gabriel Farias in the men’s KL1.
